After a hugely successful first collaboration with New Balance, Action Bronson is wasting no time in releasing his second colourway. Unafraid of the brighter shades in life, Bronson’s first NB 990v6 “Multi” was a beautiful barrage of colours, the total opposite of New Balance’s usual love for grey. Now while this “Lapis Lazuli” edition is a lot more wearable than the previous iteration, the Queens native has once again conjured up a series of hues that somehow complement each other. Make sure you’ve got your eye on the ball with this drop because it’s likely to be just as hard to grab as the “Multi” pair.Focusing on the shade of blue, the upper is a combination that stretches from light blue suedes to a dark teal mesh. The 3M hits remain present, a detail that Bronson himself admitted to loving in his GQ Sneaker Collection interview, where old-school photos of him stunting in the NB 992 did more than back up his claim. The new breathability of the NB 990v6 update arrives via the teal mesh underlay, with a similarly coloured suede mudguard wrapped around the bottom portion of the shoe. The Work Boot-laces nod to the artist’s time spent as a labourer, a detail that he has declared must remain unchanged as the shoe is perfect straight out of the box.
